For example, prior studies suggested higher engagement rates on Threads compared to X. Yet, overall engagements tell us both platforms see similar interaction numbers. Engagement rates consider the proportion of interactions to views, whereas total engagements account for all interactions. Thus, context and specific objectives define which metric suits your analysis best.
Exploring Engagement Dynamics: How X, Threads, and Bluesky Compare
Throughout 2024, posts on X, Threads, and Bluesky typically resonated with four or fewer engagements. Yet February 2025 exposed some shifts: Threads rose to a median of five, while Bluesky dropped to three.
