Responsibilities of the Remote Customer Support Advocate

Training Overview
The training period is an essential component of this role, scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday. During the full-time, paid four-week training, you’ll acquire the skills necessary to assist customers effectively. With support from a team dedicated to your success, you’ll confidently start handling calls after completing your training.
Technology and Location
While ACT provides essential technology equipment, candidates must ensure a stable internet connection with specific download and upload speeds. While the position is primarily remote, interested candidates can work from the Iowa City headquarters or opt for a hybrid setup.
A Day as a Remote Customer Support Advocate
- Your day either involves incoming or outgoing customer service interactions. On average, you might handle 15-20 calls daily. Aim for one-call resolutions by asking probing questions, resolving issues, and documenting your findings.
- Escalate unresolved issues seamlessly to ensure swift resolutions.
- Maintain customer interaction records, including transactions, comments, and complaints using a customer relationship management tool.
About You
- Have at least one year of call center experience.
- Basic software experience, including Microsoft Office, is required.
- Proficiency with web browsers and internet messaging tools.
- Excellent keyboard skills and the ability to multitask.
- A customer-focused approach with the flexibility to adapt to changes.
- Capability to handle high call volumes while maintaining organization.
