Your Journey in Bookkeeping

My journey began as a CPA in 1999, and I’ve operated two accounting firms since. To date, I’ve trained numerous individuals to excel as bookkeepers. After founding my first firm, I encountered a significant realization: strong bookkeeping is essential for a company’s financial health. However, finding skilled bookkeepers proved to be quite the challenge.

Despite my initial efforts, the quest for talent seemed impossible. The established bookkeepers I approached were self-sufficient, making much more independently than they would working for me. Eventually, I switched approaches. I began training individuals with promising traits to develop into exceptional bookkeepers.

Through trial and error, I identified seven key traits that all successful bookkeepers displayed consistently. With this knowledge, I started recruiting individuals with these attributes and swiftly elevated my bookkeeping practice.
