Buffer offers each team member a $1,000 annual Growth Mindset Fund, supporting a flexible path to self-improvement and skill enhancement. This fund, rooted in psychologist Carol Dweck’s growth mindset theory, affirms our belief in continuous learning. Dweck’s research emphasizes that abilities can develop with effort and perseverance.

“In the growth mindset, people focus on the process rather than the outcome,” Dweck writes in her book, “Mindset.” Our team members use this fund creatively: taking courses, engaging with mentors, joining professional communities, and investing in tools for productivity. Furthermore, the Growth Mindset Fund also complements our conference participation strategy.

Learning and Networking at Conferences

Attending conferences is a vital part of professional development for many at Buffer. We annually select key conferences that align with our mission and ensure our members can learn, connect, and share insights with industry peers. Covered costs include everything from registration to meals, and often our team members present at these events, reflecting our transparent culture of shared learning.
