Web3 Fashion Brand Melds AI, NFTs, and On-Demand Manufacturing

The rise of Web3 fashion integrating generative AI, NFTs, and on-demand manufacturing offers a groundbreaking vision for the industry. Mugrabi envisions a future where individuals own unique physical pieces that come with exclusive digital perks. This innovative drop is backed by influential Web3 fashion and digital art personalities, such as Seedphrase, linked with Louis Vuitton, and Claire Silver, who has partnered with Gucci. Seedphrase notes significant interest from the Cryptopunk community. “One of the remarkable aspects of the punk community is their unwavering support for each other, relatively insulated from recent market fluctuations,” he says, referencing the decline in cryptocurrency values post the gold rush. He adds, “This presents a fantastic opportunity to acquire Claire Silver’s artwork,” (Silver famously sold 500 digital dresses for $1.2 million within 12 seconds).

“Cryptopunks epitomize the quiet luxury of the NFT domain,” states Mugrabi, bringing substantial influence from the traditional art and fashion sectors. The event in April, part of the NFT.NYC Web3 conference, saw notable attendees like designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler, Diane von Furstenberg, Moda Operandi founder Lauren Santo Domingo, and The Row’s Ashley Olsen, alongside iconic artists including Tom Sachs.

“It was a monumental blend of diverse worlds, achievable by few today,” Mugrabi remarks. This fusion is intentional, she explains, “One of my primary objectives is to position the brand as a visionary bridge between different realms.”

Investor and entrepreneur Karlie Kloss, adept in both fashion and technology, exemplifies this vision. “Mmerch symbolizes this with its creative use of generative design and AI,” Kloss states. “Colby’s strategy delivers unique pieces at scale, tackles surplus inventory, and maintains transparency through blockchain. I’m thrilled to support such a forward-thinking collaboration shaping the future of fashion.”

The intricate roll-out process of the Mmerch Seedphrase Collection will be familiar to avid NFT collectors. Initially, five ultra-luxe hoodies featuring Swarovski cord ends will be auctioned online by Christie’s starting September 25. Mugrabi anticipates bidding to range between $1,000 and $10,000, based on the piece. Following this, an allowlist mint opens on October 1 for early access buyers, with a public mint on October 2. Given Ethereum’s value fluctuations, Mugrabi estimates the hoodies will be priced around the ETH equivalent of $750.
