Role Overview
The Recovery Representative II operates under general supervision, focusing on skip-tracing, repossession of charged-off assets, and collection efforts on defaulted loans. This position demands adept handling of complex customer and vendor queries while working with specialty Active Duty accounts. Moreover, the Recovery Representative II will assist in the training of new hires and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Assign both pre and post charge-off accounts to external vendors for collection and repossession efforts.
- Effective collections through negotiated settlements or payment plans while safeguarding the interests of both HDFS and customers.
- Gain a thorough understanding of operational processes within the team, including protocols with partners and account workflows.
- Engage in continuous improvement by spotting potential enhancements and implementing effective solutions.
- Mentor new Recovery Representatives and support training and project work.
- Utilize excellent time management skills to provide satisfactory customer service experiences.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the account workflow and collaborate professionally across the organization.
- Ensure the protection of sensitive information and adherence to legal compliance measures while performing job duties.
- File claims with attorneys and bonding services for processing Replevin claims, actively pursuing collections.
- Coordinate with attorneys, vendors, and law enforcement on repossession or Replevin claim statuses.
Educational and Experience Requirements
Educational Background
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Experience
Mandatory Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong abilities in skip tracing and collection methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in problem-solving and analysis.
- Familiar with PC operation, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet navigation.
- Demonstrated initiative and results focus in a dynamic work environment.
- Capable of effective teamwork and interaction with various organizational levels, exhibiting strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to support projects, training, focus groups, and process improvements effectively.
- Self-starter who can identify needs and act without delay.
Preferred Experience
- 3 years of experience strongly preferred.
