Opportunity at American Health Connection

American Health Connection, a prominent healthcare call center, is hiring for the role of a Remote Patient Services Representative. This position starts at $16 per hour, with a review of the compensation rate after 90 days. In this role, you will communicate with patients over the phone, efficiently schedule appointments, pre-register patients, and handle insurance verifications.

Responsibilities of a Remote Patient Services Representative

As a Remote Patient Services Representative, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Communicating with patients via phone.
  • Accurately and swiftly scheduling appointments following the provided protocols.
  • Pre-registering patients and verifying insurance details.
  • Managing 100+ calls back-to-back per shift in a high-paced environment.

Essential skills for candidates include a minimum of two years of recent experience in a medical office setting, proficiency with electronic health record systems (EMR/EHR), and basic insurance knowledge. Additionally, exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.

Compensation and Comprehensive Benefits

The starting pay for this role is $16 per hour, with a 90-day review period. The benefits package includes:

Equipment and Workplace Requirements

This position is BYOE (Bring Your Own Equipment). Ensure your setup meets the following criteria before your start date: 

  • Operating system: Windows 10 or newer; Mac Big Sur or newer.
  • Computer specifications: Intel i5 / Ryzen 3 / M1 or better (4-8 Cores), 8GB RAM, and non-portable devices only.
  • Monitor: At least 22 inches, with dual monitors highly recommended.
  • Internet: Wired Ethernet connection with at least 30mbps download and 10mbps upload speeds. Wireless and satellite connections are not acceptable.
  • Headset: Plantronics Blackwire 3320 or equivalent, with noise-cancelling microphone.
  • Work Environment: Private, noise-free, and HIPAA compliant workspace at home.
