JOB OVERVIEW

As a Retail Merchandiser, you’ll work autonomously to demonstrate your organizational skills, establish retailer relationships, and embody the Hallmark brand. Collaborating with local store teams, you’ll optimize product placement and maintain inventory levels. You may also assist fellow team members with seasonal setups and installations when necessary. Occasionally, Hallmark may request you to manage another vendor’s products while servicing a store; detailed instructions and additional time will be provided for such tasks.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Your role as a Retail Merchandiser involves various responsibilities in the Hallmark sections of retail stores, including grocery, drug, department, and mass retailers. The position encompasses three core elements:

Daily Engagement: You will oversee the entire Hallmark display in assigned stores. Using a mobile device supplied by Hallmark, you will restock, organize, and maintain Hallmark products within and adjoining the designated department. This device will also enable you to communicate with your supervisor, report hours, share feedback, and complete merchandising surveys. Professional and respectful interactions with store employees, management, and customers are crucial for achieving success in this role.

Seasonal Support: Hallmark’s operations often peak during holiday seasons. As holidays like Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, and Christmas approach, you can expect additional working days and extended hours. During critical times such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day, you might be asked to work on the holiday, which may also involve weekends.

Department Resets: Occasionally, you may join a team responsible for setting up fixtures for Hallmark and relocating products within stores to refresh card sections. Typically, you’ll receive two weeks’ notice for such assignments, which might involve evening or weekend hours.

Collaborative Spirit: While your duties are specific, flexibility may be required as you assist with additional projects and installations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires high energy and a proactive attitude due to its physically demanding nature. You will work on the store’s selling floor and in back stock areas. Candidates must be able to consistently push, pull, lift, and carry products and fixtures up to 30 pounds during regular hours and sometimes up to 50 pounds. Additional physical tasks may include bending, squatting, walking, and standing for significant periods, as well as climbing stairs and step ladders.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Capable of reading, writing, and comprehending English.
• Able to frequently lift, carry, and manipulate items weighing up to 30 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Proficient in utilizing handheld technology for documentation and information interpretation.
• Must have access to Wi-Fi and the internet.
• Reliable transportation is necessary to travel to assigned locations.
